What data do we collect?

TaalBoost collects the following data:

  • Personal identification information (Name, email address, phone number, home address, date of birth)

  • Linguistic background (first language, language knowledge, length of stay in the Netherlands, previous experience with the Dutch language). This information is collected by e-mail, after the registration has taken place, and is optionally submitted.

How do we collect your data?

You directly provide TaalBoost with most of the data we collect. We collect data and process data when you:

  • Register online for a TaalBoost course, Open Day or other events at TaalBoost.

  • Voluntarily complete a customer survey or provide feedback on any of our message boards or via email.

  • Use or view our website via your browser’s cookies.

How will we use your data?

TaalBoost collects your data so that we can:

  • Process your registration and have an overview of the classroom linguistic background before and during each group language course.

  • Email you with special offers on other courses or free events we think you might like.

How do we store your data?

TaalBoost is committed to taking all reasonable measures to protect the personal information we store against any unauthorised use, loss or access. These include measures to address any suspected data breach. We endeavour to protect your data by storing it on secure servers and using a series of technical and organisational security measures to safeguard your personal data and to reduce the risk of loss, misuse, unauthorised access, disclosure and alteration. Some of the safeguards we use include firewalls and data encryption. Although we believe we have taken adequate and appropriate measures, no system is perfect and we therefore cannot guarantee that unauthorised access or theft will not occur. If you suspect that there may be improper use of your personal information or unauthorised access to it, please let us know immediately by sending us an email to info@taalboost.nl

TaalBoost will keep your personal data for a period of 3 years. Once this time period has expired, we will delete your data by removing the data from our systems.

Marketing

TaalBoost would like to send you information about services and products of ours that we think you might like, such as the upcoming Dutch language courses that might be interesting to you, or information about our free events.

If you have agreed to receive marketing, you may always opt out at a later date.

You have the right at any time to stop TaalBoost from contacting you for marketing purposes.

What are your data protection rights?

TaalBoost would like to make sure you are fully aware of all of your data protection rights. Every user is entitled to the following:

The right to access – You have the right to request TaalBoost for copies of your personal data. We may charge you a small fee for this service.

The right to rectification – You have the right to request that TaalBoost correct any information you believe is inaccurate. You also have the right to request TaalBoost to complete the information you believe is incomplete.

The right to erasure – You have the right to request that TaalBoost erase your personal data, under certain conditions.

The right to restrict processing – You have the right to request that TaalBoost restrict the processing of your personal data, under certain conditions.
